Periodically, I’m gonna try to let you guys (and gals) know what music, books, movies I’m diggin at the moment.
Here is some music that I’m really into right now:
APES AND ANDROIDS: Sweet electronic rock. Definitely different but amazing none the less. Epic in it’s own electric way. DOWNLOAD: Make Forever Last Forever + Doyle is Dead
VAMPIRE WEEKEND: One of the best records I’ve heard in a while! I really like it. They’re like The Beatles, Sufjan Stevens and The Strokes all rolled into one. Sound interesting? It is. DOWNLOAD: the whole cd or Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa
If you haven’t already, you must check out LUPE FIASCO’s The Cool. The whole thing is good but some of my favorite tracks feature Matthew Santos. I got to see Matt when he opened for Sleeping At Last at their Christmas show at HOB. He was quite good by himself but Lupe and him make a dynamic duo begging to be reckoned with. Also, Patrick Stump produced the song Little Weapon. DOWNLOAD: Superstar, Streets On Fire
MILLION DOLLA MANO: I got a chance to go downtown and hang with MANO last week. He is a really cool guy and he’s also a rising star & producer in electronic/rock/hip-hop music. He only has one song on iTunes and I highly recommend it! Oh, and for all you Chicago folks, MANO will be performing at the sweet club, UNDERGROUND, Thursday, Feb. 21. There will be live art and breakdancing. Check out Underground’s website: www.theundergroundchicago.com. You won’t regret it if you get in!
